Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. When she was a kid she attended at the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma's dream was to become an actor. As a young girl of six, she joined the Oxford Stagecoach Theatre Arts branch, where she took classes for acting, singing and dancing. Her performances had been in numerous Stagecoach or school shows when she was 10 years old. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the film version of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel began casting in 1999. Emma was discovered by agent via the recommendation of her Oxford teacher. David Heyman announced to Emma that following eight auditions they and Rupert Grint were chosen as Hermione and Harry Potter. Emma's debut on the big screen took place in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone that was released in the year 2001. It broke all records in opening-day sales and opening-weekend takings and was the highest-grossing film of the year 2001. The critics were impressed by the movie and its performances. The Daily Telegraph, an important British publication, described Emma's performances "amazing". Emma later won five awards for her performance in the film.
